DEBUT ALBUM "THE WATERS EP"
OUT NOWBIO & FRIENDS
Hoven is an indie-folk band from the misty lands of Lleida (Catalonia), although its roots are in Bedford, UK. After the dissolution of an early band and longing for new ways to express his creativity, Pol Joven, guitarist and songwriter from Lleida, decided to create the project Hoven in 2019.
It was his early years living in the UK that inspired the indie-folk compositions and first releases (Indie Ruck, Away / Wave, The Night She Left). All this helped him win three contests in Spain (Concurs Cases de la Música Lleida, Concurs Festival Monocicle & Beca Talent 2021).
After being on the singer/songwriter scene for a few years, the project took new directions with the incorporation of 4 musicians from the Catalan scene: Genís Bagés (drums), Pau Gairí (saxophone), Vicent Monfà (keys) & Arnau Martínez (bass).
In late 2021, they finished recording their first release as a band, an independently released EP called «The Waters», with the first single The Waters released in late March 2022 and the full EP due out in early April.
THE BAND
Rugby player and musician from Lleida. After living in the outskirts of London and Prague, he created Hoven as an independent project with his compositions.
POL JOVEN
(vocals, guitar, songwriting)
Drummer and sound artist, Bagès made a stay at the Vienna Konservatorium and was part of Berlin’s music scene. Currently, he’s coordinating projects such as the “Escola Jove”.
GENÍS BAGÉS
(drums, sound programming)
Saxophonist from the catalan scene who wishes to point out that he is no illustrious character. In his CV he excelled in trying to have an orchard and memorable performances on stage.
PAU GAIRÍ
(alto sax, baritone sax)
Musician and producer from Lleida, it is in his studio that he feels more comfortable, playing and writing songs. He has shared stage with different bands of the Catalan scene.
VICENT MONFÀ
(keys, synths, vocals, producer)
Bassist and luthier from Lleida. He started playing the transverse flute but ended up changing it for the bass guitar. He’s currently your trusty luthier.
